  • A major financial services/offshore business sector, which is a big part of the local economy

The Baths, located in southern Virgin Gorda, are a natural wonder made up of massive granite boulders that form magnificent sheltering rock pools along the beach's shoreline. Molten rock seeped up through volcanic rock layers, creating a hollow location. The Baths is a popular harbor where visitors may go snorkelling, swimming, and unwind on the peaceful beaches. There's an appealing mix of colourful pubs and restaurants to refill stomachs at on land and the onshore services such as lockers and restrooms.

For these wanting something a little less daring, at the entrance is the area called "Top of the Baths" which has a freshwater pool, a restaurant/bar, and shops with spectacular views over the panoramic Geological phenomenon. Enjoy a cool cocktail or one of their delicious meals from their menu. Shop for trinkets in their boutique shops.

(ROAD TOWN PORT) with Professional Guide subject to sufficient bookings

Without a doubt, the most famous attraction of Virgin Gorda is The Baths: a collection of enormous boulders where you can crawl, swim and climb. Virgin Gorda’s geological features come from volcanic activity. A volcanic crater forms The Valley, where Spanish Town sits, and the island’s iconic caverns have lava to thank too. When molten volcanic rock cooled just off the coast, it formed the gigantic granite boulders now known as The Baths. You can climb the boulders using rails and ropes, to reach the remote Devil’s Bay on the other side or just use the trail from The top of the Baths.

A trail disappears through the rocks to Valley Trunk Bay, offering secluded rock pools and swimming spots along the way. Within the Crawl is a small bay enclosed by a circle of boulders forming a natural corral, which in earlier times was used to hold turtles and fish, but is now a natural swimming pool. It is accessed from land along a palm-lined avenue. Surrounded by an expansive lawn are children’s swings to while away the lazy days of summer that last all year. Picnic tables and a barbecue grill inspire get-togethers with friends or family at this beautiful sandy beach, which is nestled amongst the boulders.

Cane Garden Bay is an aesthetic beauty, chock-full of places to quench your thirst and provide some adventure. Though it has certainly changed a bit from its more humble and funky beginnings, there is still plenty here worth seeing. When you get hungry or thirsty, there are around a dozen different places to fill your appetite and thirst in whatever way you see fit. Most of these locations offer a stunning view of Cane Garden Bay from the surrounding hills and some are directly adjacent to the beach.

  • Cane Garden Bay near Road Town is on the north side of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Home to beautiful beaches, restaurants, bars, shops, and an active local community, mountains and lush vegetation as well as an outer reef protect this popular destination. There is no question that this is one of the most popular beaches in the British Virgin Islands and the entire Caribbean!

Snorkelling here gives you a chance to see local coral and colourful fish native to the British Virgin Islands. Some of the best viewings will be on the west side of the bay, to your left when you approach the water. Here you’ll find a reef teeming with life just off the shore.

That "son of a son of a sailor", Jimmy Buffet ... the old Parrot Head himself, became famous singing about boats, beaches, bars, women, life's disappointments and the little things which bring him joy. Not surprisingly, he (like so many of us) always seems to find joy in sailing the BVI!

Jimmy Buffet said it best:- "I hear it gets better, that's what they say, as soon as we sail on to Cane Garden Bay".

Buffet immortalized Tortola in the lyrics of his song, "Manana": "I hear it gets better, that's what they say, as soon as we sail on to Cane Garden Bay". For folks who, like Jimmy Buffet, truly appreciate sailing, great beaches, good restaurants, Caribbean entertainment and the ever popular beach bars, Cane Garden Bay is your one stop shop!

BREWERS BAY BEACH DAY

with some rum punch!!

$32.50

  • What really keeps people talking about this dream beach spot, better known as Brewers Bay Beach, are the sea turtles. Duck down under the water near the gently swaying seagrass, and more often than not, you’ll be rewarded with views of sea turtles swimming right alongside you.

But that’s not all, stingrays are also quite common in these waters, so don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a shadow swimming quickly away as you break through the water. Parrotfish, tarpons, snappers, and barracuda are some of the fish species here.

The best place to snorkel is towards the west, heading in the direction of Nicoles Beach Bar, as you’ll find a barrier reef towards this part. When you finish snorkeling, be sure to look up since Brewers Bay is home to many species of birds, making this a notable bird-watching site.

If you’re tired from snorkeling or celebrating by actually catching a wave on your surfboard, you can grab a bite from a local food truck that sits along the road. There are almost always a few food trucks selling local culinary creations.

You’ll definitely want to try some pates or johnny cakes. Nicoles Beach Bar is also pretty close and provides excellent entertainment with beautiful views of the beach.
