Cane Garden Bay is an aesthetic beauty, chock-full of places to quench your thirst and provide some adventure. Though it has certainly changed a bit from its more humble and funky beginnings, there is still plenty here worth seeing. When you get hungry or thirsty, there are around a dozen different places to fill your appetite and thirst in whatever way you see fit. Most of these locations offer a stunning view of Cane Garden Bay from the surrounding hills and some are directly adjacent to the beach.

  • Cane Garden Bay near Road Town is on the north side of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Home to beautiful beaches, restaurants, bars, shops, and an active local community, mountains and lush vegetation as well as an outer reef protect this popular destination. There is no question that this is one of the most popular beaches in the British Virgin Islands and the entire Caribbean!

Snorkelling here gives you a chance to see local coral and colourful fish native to the British Virgin Islands. Some of the best viewings will be on the west side of the bay, to your left when you approach the water. Here you’ll find a reef teeming with life just off the shore.

That "son of a son of a sailor", Jimmy Buffet ... the old Parrot Head himself, became famous singing about boats, beaches, bars, women, life's disappointments and the little things which bring him joy. Not surprisingly, he (like so many of us) always seems to find joy in sailing the BVI!

Jimmy Buffet said it best:- "I hear it gets better, that's what they say, as soon as we sail on to Cane Garden Bay".

Buffet immortalized Tortola in the lyrics of his song, "Manana": "I hear it gets better, that's what they say, as soon as we sail on to Cane Garden Bay". For folks who, like Jimmy Buffet, truly appreciate sailing, great beaches, good restaurants, Caribbean entertainment and the ever popular beach bars, Cane Garden Bay is your one stop shop!
