Rockpool Beach.. Located just south of the Osprey Beach Resort, Rockpool beach provides a great place for families with small children to explore the sea. A near-shore reef offers exceptional snorkelling on one side, with calm clear pools on the other. Most local children learned to swim here, the beach is a great place to find seashells.

Cockburn Town... is the Capitol of the Turks & Caicos Islands. This centuries-old seaside town features distinctly Bermudian and colonial-style architecture with historic homes, churches, inns, and lodges, built from the prosperity of sea salt. Informative plaques are posted on the walls of historic homes, and you can learn about the personal history and their place in the Grand Turk timeline.

Fish Market.. Seafaring is in the blood of every Turks and Caicos Islander. The bounty of our waters offers abundant resources besides salt. Local fisherman hauls in their catch of fresh lobster, conch, and fish daily at this public beachfront market. Trams pass by the fish market on the way to the lighthouse. Watch our local fishermen bring up their catch for the day. From fresh snapper, grouper, conch, and lobster, this is the place for fresh seafood.

Crabtree Corner Park. Situated at the southern head of North Creek, this nature reserve was once home to a green sea turtle nursery. today it provides an excellent site for kayaks, windsurfing, or simply taking in the natural surroundings. The JAGS McCartney National Monument is located at the centre of the roundabout. JAGS McCartney was the first Chief Minister of the Turks & Caicos Islands. In season one can observe several species of birds nesting in the trees around Crabtree Corner Park and tram guides will point out any wildlife found at the spot.

Lighthouse... Before the lighthouse was erected, ship captains calling on Grand Turk would have to navigate the treacherous reefs extending miles out beyond the coast. It is estimated that over 1,000 shipwrecks lie on the reefs. A brisk wracking industry followed where local seamen would row out to rescue passengers while claiming goods salvaged from the wrecked ship. Anything of value would be sold or used to their benefit. By the mid-eighteen fifties, steady trade was established and demand for the lighthouse was granted. In 1948 the United States established a Navy base adjacent to the lighthouse. Currently, home to the Turks & Caicos Islands Community College, the base was a top-secret listening station tuned in to the task of identifying passing enemy ships and submarines.

Explore the lighthouse grounds during our 15-minute tram stop. Friendly donkeys usually greet trams and the elevated sea views are amazing.

There is a nominal $3-dollar entry fee, but you can redeem it towards items purchased at the gift shop
